About the Designer
Surati Kapoor is a NIFT graduate with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and a PG Diploma in Theology — an uncommon intersection that shapes her design philosophy with depth, inquiry, and meaning.
Her academic journey, combined with years of working closely with Indian artisans, has given her a strong foundation in craft, culture, and conscious creation. Her work is deeply research-led and process-oriented.
Surati believes clothing is more than aesthetics — it is a medium of storytelling, heritage, and human connection. Her hands-on experience with artisan communities allows her to honour traditional techniques, regional textiles, and generational skills.
At the heart of her practice lies a commitment to slow fashion, ethical production, and craft preservation. Through her work, she promotes Indian craftsmanship, supports artisan livelihoods, and keeps indigenous arts relevant in today’s evolving world.
